Presbyterian Women

Presbyterian Women invites and encourages all women of Watauga Avenue Presbyterian church to enjoy mission projects, fun and fellowship by joining PW. From September through May, the women of our church meet monthly.

Two circles (small groups) meet monthly in member’s homes. Mary and Martha Circle meets on the first Thursday of the month, and Rhoda Circle meets on the second Saturday. When there is a 5th Tuesday in a month, PW members get together to work on mission projects such as gathering personal hygiene items for the Downtown Clinic, IHN, and Safe Passage. Presbyterian Women help deliver Meals on Wheels and Nutrition for the Elderly. PW also provides the meal for our yearly Father’s Day Church in the Park.

The Presbyterian Women Purpose states:

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit we commit ourselves to:

• nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study
• support the mission of the church worldwide
• work for justice and peace, and
• build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengths the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witness to the promise of God’s kingdom.
