Welcome from our Pastor

 REVEREND PATRICIA HEALY LOCKE

The Reverend Patricia Healy Locke is our pastor at Watauga Avenue Presbyterian Church and she has been with us since Sunday, August 23, 2015.  She has led us in new and exciting ways since her arrival.   During the time she has been here we have instituted a series of weekly Taize services during Lent then which was soon followed by monthly Taize services for healing and wholeness from June through November in 2016.  This past December was held our first Blue Christmas Taize service for wholeness and peace.  We also experienced our first Flowering of the Cross on Easter Sunday.   During 2017 we will continue having these special services during Lent and throughout the year and we hope that you will join with us for these special times together.

Rev. Locke comes to Johnson City from Michigan where she was the associate minister for pastoral care and Christian education at the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven.

The ministry is a second career for Locke.  She has been a copywriter and editor, specializing in advertising and marketing copy and editorial work for businesses and universities. She also has taught classes in fiction writing.  Locke holds a Bachelor of Fine arts degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill., and she is a graduate of McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago with a master of Divinity degree.

Locke's two children and their spouses, Ashley and Peter Gosselar, and Ben and Anna Locke reside in Chicago.
