Fellowship Team & More

Fellowship Team - Since fellowship is the state of being together or of sharing similar interests or experiences, it is our purpose to promote within WAPC the coordination of activities to include the majority of our members.  These activities will include monthly group pot luck or sponsored dinners.  We are also involved in coordinating and assisting other committees when their activity includes the use of the kitchen facilities.  We are responsible for establishing shepherding groups to keep in contact with our elderly and uninvolved members of WAPC.

Presbyterian Women.   The women of Watauga Avenue  Presbyterian Church meet monthly (except summer in two circles for bible study and fellowship.   On the 5th Tuesday of each month we meet to work on mission projects.  Current projects include collecting and trimming stamps to send to the Reinholts, trimming and sending bar codes from soup cans and other products to Sunset Gap and gathering and delivering personal hygiene bags to the Downtown Clinic, IHN and Safe Passage.  We also help deliver Meals on Wheels and Nutrition for the Elderly.  We arrange for the meal for the Fathers Day Church in the Park and we have an annual mother/daughter luncheon each May.  All women of the church are invited to join and encouraged to be a part of this fellowship.

WAPC senior's group, the Keenagers, meets once a month (usually the 2nd Wednesday) for lunch, fellowship, and a program. Everyone brings a sandwich, and the designated hosts provides the beverages, salad and dessert.  Programs range from attending plays (usually matinee performances) at the Barter Theatre in Abingdon VA to storytelling in Jonesborough TN, visits to local museums and historic sites, and viewing slide presentations by one of our members of some exotic recent trip.  If you are 55 or older, come join us for good fellowship and interesting programs.  You might even learning something.  Join us and bring a friend or two, too.

Anyone is welcome to join the Lunch Bunch at various local restaurants following Morning Worship each week, except when there is a special luncheon at the church.   A schedule of dining venues is posted on the bulletin board in the side entry and the monthly calendar of events.

Also the WAPC Supper Club meets at 5 pm the first Wednesday of each month, with the exception of Lenten season.   Local restaurants are our main focus and the venues vary.  There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the side entry.  Everyone welcome.
