This Sunday we begin a sermon series on the book of Micah that will take us from October 5 through November 23. Micah opens with a picture of God descending in power. Shaking mountains and melting valleys. But behind this dramatic imagery lies a God who is grieving. The prophet shows us that God’s judgement is not fueled by anger alone, but by sorrow over how injustice and idolatry distort community and wound creation. God mourns with us, and God’s broken heart reveals both the seriousness of sin and the depth of divine love. We hope that you will join us in person or online.

On December 7, we will start a new series for Advent. Alec Worrell-Welch will be leading a study based on Tish Harrison-Warren's book called Advent: The Season of Hope (Fullness of Time). The book can be purchased on Amazon (used) for about $12; other sellers like Alibris or Abebooks, may have a lower price. It is 128 pages long, and the pages read quickly.
This study approaches Advent from numerous angles, drawing forth the historical power of Christ's incarnation and the hope for his future restoration of all things into the present, teaching us to attend to God in our day-to-day living.

The WAPC Green Team has recently published a new recipe book, Book of Uncommon (Vegetarian) Recipes and they are selling like hotcakes. This new book focuses on both vegan and vegetarian recipes. The rationale for this book is that eating less meat is better for the environment, our health, and the animal kingdom. You may note that there are no recipes with marshmallows or gelatin in our cookbook, maybe a first for a church cookbook of this nature. Copies of our book are on sale through the church office for $10 apiece. So give us a call or stop by for your copy.
